When passing in the `ranks` array, the newly created author does not have an id yet. You must pass an id => null with the new rank value. This allows for OptiPub to inject the newly created id into the array and save it appropriately.It is up to you to manage the ranks of your authors. OptiPub does not make any assumptions when it comes to ranking your authors. It is recommended that you pass in all of the authors related to the same publication in the ranks array of objects in order for OptiPub to update all of the ranks at one time.
