Senders
A Sender defines the "from" identity your subscribers see when they receive a message or auto responder. Each sender is tied to a publication and a verified domain.
Create a Sender
You can only create senders using domains that are configured and verified. Reply-only senders only require the domain to be configured.
- Navigate to Messaging > Senders.
- Click Create.
- Fill in the required fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Publication | The publication this sender belongs to. Cannot be changed after creation. |
| Name | The display name subscribers see (e.g., "OptiPub Team"). |
| Local Part | The part before the @ in the email address (e.g., hello). |
| Domain | Select a configured and verified domain. Combined with the local part to form the full "from" address. |
- Optionally, configure these toggles:
- Default — Make this the default sender for the publication. Only one sender can be default per publication.
- Reply Only — Use this sender only as a reply-to address. Reply-only senders do not require a verified domain.
The default sender is automatically selected when creating a message. Only one sender can be default per publication at a time.
Edit a Sender
To edit an existing sender, click the three-dot menu on the sender row and select Edit. You can update the name, local part, domain, reply-only setting, and default status.
To quickly set a sender as the default, click the toggle switch icon in the Actions column. This will prompt you to confirm the change.
Changing the default sender will overwrite the existing default for that publication.
Delete a Sender
Senders cannot be deleted. If a sender is no longer needed for outgoing messages, set it to Reply Only instead.
